Gypsophila repens is a charming little perennial. It is low-growing and spreading making a nice ground cover. It is commonly called Baby's Breath, and this Rose variety has soft gray-green foliage and light, airy masses of rosey-pink single dainty blooms. As a trailing plant, it is perfect for containers, rock gardens or along a rock wall where it can spill over. Sow seed indoors 6 - 8 weeks prior to the last expected frost. Press the seeds into the soil covering them lightly with soil. Keep the seed moist until germination. With temperatures of 73 - 77F, germination is normally within 14 days. Space the plants 10 inches apart. Grow in full sun and in gritty, well-drained soil. This variety of Gypsophila is usually resistant to deer.
