About Scott Hawaii Men's Hokulea Flip Flop | White

Amazon.com Comb the beach or just kick around town in this comfortable sandal from Scott Hawaii. The nylon upper is lightweight and easy to wear, while the foamy footbed is flexible and cushioning. From the Manufacturer Scott Hawaii started in 1932 after founders Elmer and Jean Scott moved from Massachusetts to Hawaii. Coming from a lineage of shoe makers, the pair quickly established a reputation within their new community as manufacturers of quality footwear. At first they specialized in plantation boots for the sugarcane and pineapple field workers. But, with the introduction of World War II, materials came in short supply and businesses servicing the United States military were given priority. To meet these new conditions, Scott Hawaii changed direction and began focusing on casual footwear, which they sold to the military exchanges. The "slippah" was born. Scott Hawaii was born of the principles, dedication and vision it takes to drive a couple almost 6000 miles away (during a time of trains and steamships!) to an unfamiliar land to start a business. Now in its third generation, these principles are still in place today. Although the styling has come a long way, the quality and attention to detail are still the same.
