Our master farmers dry the yerba with a unique hot air process to achieve a robust, smoke-free taste. After aging, stems and powder are sifted out and returned to enrich the soil. Our yerba mate is a pure leaf product of exceptional quality. The Eco Teas Mission: Eco Teas is a small company in southern Oregon owned and run by three best friends. our mission is to offer certified organic sustainably-grown, fairly-traded world teas. Through conscious commerce, we work for personal and planetary health. In Argentina, we are helping our yerba mate farmers reclaim their ancestral land and cultivate it using sustainable permaculture techniques. We envision an organic, biodiverse, economically-productive landscape. What is Yerba Mate? Yerba Mate is a holly tree native to the rainforests of South America. The tea-like beverage made from its leaves is called mate. Mate is the national drink of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. People from all walks of life have enjoyed its beneficial properties for centuries. Sipping mate with friends and family is an energizing, healthful daily ritual.
