About Save The Bees

Review 5 STARS - Reviewed By Barbara Fanson for Readers' Favorite Save the Earth by Bethany Stahl should be required reading for all schools. The book is interesting and educational and children, teachers, and parents will enjoy reading it. The bee describes her role in distributing pollen and transporting nectar back to the hive. Unfortunately, she also explains how her job has gotten harder. This children's picture book is a wonderful story of survival that is both engaging and educational. After reading the story, children and parents will be wondering how they can help. Author and illustrator Bethany Stahl does a wonderful job of describing the importance of bees with easy-to-understand dialog and full-color illustrations. Save the Bees is a great story of bees, their importance, the problem, and offers a solution so we can all help. Planting sunflowers, lavender, peonies, and marigold flowers is a quick and easy solution. The children in the story make a bee hotel by reusing plastic and bamboo, a renewable resource. Author Bethany Stahl manages to combine the plight of bee populations with the importance of recycling and renewable resources. The illustrations are very well done and will draw children into the book and keep them interested. I think children will love the Search and Find activity at the back, which reinforces counting and has children looking through the book again. Teachers and parents will especially like both activities. I enjoyed reading Save the Bees because of the story and the illustrations, but I'm also inspired to help save one bee at a time. Thank you for an amazing story featuring the importance of pollinators. "Believe it or not, insects are important animals. While many of us may find them annoying or gross, they play a role in their ecosystems. By reading this book, children will learn about why it's worth saving bees specifically. A bee teaches two kids all about bees and pollination, which they carry out and affects plants directly." - Mariela Santos Muniz "The illustrations are fun and colorful--perfect for young animal lovers who want to learn how to make a difference." - Stacy Tornio, Treehugger Product Description Journey with a bee & two inquisitive children to discover the importance of pollinators!
