From the Author The youngest of my three children is five years old and in senior kindergarten and is an advanced reader for her age. In finding books for her to read that are science and nature based I have noticed that there are not many available that are both at her reading level and short enough to keep her attention span. The Read About Books series came about as a solution to that problem. They are full of fun facts and information and are readable in 1-2 short reading sessions. I would classify them as intermediate readers. The length is longer than a beginner reader, but not as intimidating as a 40+ page text on a given subject. I have packed them with interesting photos and have tried to include at least one fun feature at the back of each book such as a quiz, experiment, recipe, etc. Read About Fungi will entertain your young reader and have them learning about mushrooms, fungi, spores and more.
