About Life In Full Colour

Product Description Callaghan's debut album, Life In Full Colour, released on May 1st 2012. The release is the culmination of a journey which brought the British singer-songwriter across the Atlantic from London to live and record in the USA. A long-time Shawn Mullins fan, Callaghan contacted the Atlanta singer-songwriter through MySpace, and after being knocked out by her music he agreed to a rare collaboration. Callaghan left her London digs and boarded a plane headed for the American South: the experience was the inspiration for the opening track and first single from the album, Best Year. Callaghan plays piano and guitar and delivers a vocal which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Life In Full Colour presents the singer as the truly eclectic, dynamic musical force she has become, combining shades of folk, country, rock and pop into a seamless fusion of feeling and melody. While representing the diverse sonic palette, the album's title also captures the thematic underpinnings of the release: from expressing moments of joy, love and happiness to those of sorrow and despair, the record captures a range of human experience within its 12 tracks. Since landing stateside Callaghan has toured extensively throughout the U.S., especially alongside Mullins, and regularly sells out shows in her new home town of Atlanta. ''The world needs more singer songwriters like Callaghan'' says Shawn Mullins, ''In a time where mediocrity is seen as brilliant, Callaghan truly shines through as the real deal. Her voice is original and pure, and she is one of the greatest unsigned talents I've ever heard.'' Review ...a 12-track set infused with folk, pop, rock and country influences and, above all, immediate hooks. Referencing such standout tracks as the pretty ballad 'It Was Meant to Be' and the midtempo pop/rock nuggets 'Close My Eyes' and 'Sweet Surrender'. --Billboard.com It's easy to fall for Callaghan, especially when you see her in action on her 'Best Year' video. She's one of those performers whose genuine sweetness is transparent in her voice and it shines through her writing. If you're feeling low and you need a lift, watch and listen. You'll feel like you've got a new pal. Life In Full Colour is joyful listening. --Huffington Post Captivated at first listen, Life in Full Colour successfully drives the listener through a journey of all the ups and downs in life and love. From the buoyant, optimistic 'Best Year' to the aching loss of 'Close My Eyes' and the honesty and directness of 'The Only Thing Real' to the raw poignant lyrics and vocals of 'Get Me Through Tonight' and the soulful, moving 'The Edge of Love', Callaghan loyally brings her listeners through an exploration of a gamut of emotion. In a time where artists seem almost like cookie cutter replicas of their fellow creators, Callaghan delivers a sincere, unprocessed performance. There are some voices that are capable of transporting listeners to another place and Callaghan's effortless, sweet sounding, lilting, silvery vocals take you to a sun-drenched private beach with a warm breeze where worries are a thing of the past. This album takes you to a place you'll continually want to visit and some place where I plan on spending some time. --PA Music Scene.com - Julie Schreiber
