Review This is an exceptionally informative book.... An excellent resource of current information on the assessment and management of patients with dysphonia... A must read for graduate students in speech-language pathology. [Refers to First Edition] --Bernard Rousseau, PhD, CCC-SLP (Vanderbilt University School of Medicine), Doody's Review Service, (2009) This new edition continues to target the student audience. The chapter order flows well and starting with the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system is extremely important for a book on voice disorders. It covers the respiratory system in detail, explaining the use of specific tests and examinations. This is important for students to learn because speech and language therapy is developing further into the respiratory sector...The additional workbook is a great revision guide. Having a mixture of multiple choice and paragraph answers is great practice as the same structure is used during the anatomy/physiology exam. --Siobhan Lillie, Senior Specialist SLT, Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists Bulletin, (July 2013) About the Author Christine Sapienza, Ph.D., is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.
