Terminal Tales are true stories about operations on the Rock Island Railroad near Chicago during the early 1960s and written by a former Trainmaster (the person in charge of seeing that the trains got out on time, with the cars in the proper order.) It gives insight into how the railroad ran its trains and the personnel who ran them including the good, the bad and most often cantankerous people, equipment and often the very cold (or hot) and always windy Chicago weather! A fun book about the Rock Island. Illustrated with photographs of equipment and personnel of the time.
