But when you are sketching, especially when using coloured pencils, you'll want a rounded point. And at other times, maybe something in between would be what you need. No problem! The new Swordfish VariPoint electric pencil sharpener can be adjusted to provide the pencil point you need, whether it is sharp, rounded or - somewhere in between. It's fast, too. The Swordfish VariPoint will sharpen a brand new (square-ended) pencil in just three seconds! The VariPoint will work for 20 minutes, before needing to cool down and rest. In those 20 minutes it would be possible to sharpen 120 brand new pencils - or many more if you are just putting a fine point on used pencils that have become a little dull. When adjusted to its sharpest setting, the VariPoint really does produce a fine point! The pencil point produced is approximately 10 degress, making it the sharpest point that any Swordfish electric pencil sharpener can produce. Although not suitable for use with softer pencils such as pastel or charcoal, The VariPoint will produce an extremely sharp point on graphite, coloured and watercolour pencils. The secret behind the VariPoint's amazing performance is its helical blade. Over time, like any other blade, this will lose its edge, but that isn't a problem as replacement blades are available for all Swordfish mains-powered electric pencil sharpeners.
