Product Description This textbook covers the field of physical electrochemistry by introducing the reader to its central topics, including electrode kinetics and reactions, electrocapillarity, electrosorption, electrocatalysis, as well as the most important electrochemical methods. The book is a must-have for anyone wanting to learn more about the methods and their applications in related fields, such as corrosion, materials science, electroplating, nanotechnology and bioelectrochemistry. Review From reviews of the project proposal: "The uniqueness of Gileadi's proposed book is that if offers excellent balance in introducing the entire field by focusing on a selection of important topics that can be covered within one semester course. ... I believe that the new proposed version will provide signficant improvement and over the existing one, focusing on updated topics of interest and being somewhat shorter. ... Prof. Eliezer Gileadi is a distinguished electrochemist with international reputation. He is the recognized authority on most of the topics of the book. Prof. Gileadi has taught at Case Western Reserve University an annual short course on electrochemical measurements, which used his previous book as a text. The course has been attended, over the years, by many hundreds of students ans has received excellent reviews." (Prof. Uziel Landau, Case Western Reserve University, Dept. of Chemical Eng., Cleveland, Ohio, USA) "Dr. Gileadi is one the best known electrochemists and teachers in the world today. His name is recognized by almost everyone in the field of electrochemistry. ... Just to say that I very much look forward to this new book in print, and will certainly use it in teaching my courses." (Dr. B. MacDougall, National Research Council of Canada, Ontario, Canada) Review From the Back Cover This textbook covers the field of physical electrochemistry by introducing the reader to its central topics, including the mechanism of electrode kinetics, el;ectrocapillarity, electrosorption, electrocatalysis, as well as the most important electrochemical methods, such as cyclic voltammetry, the rotating-disc electrode, electrochemical-impedance spectroscopy, microelectrodes and underpotential deposition of metals. The book is an must-have for anyone wanting to learn more about the methods and their applications in related fields, such as corrosion, materials science, electroplating, nanotechnology and bioelectrochemistry. About the Author Eliezer Gileadi has been a Professor of Chemistry at Tel-Aviv University since 1966 (Emeritus since 2000). He obtained his M.Sc. at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and his Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is a member of the Center for Electrochemical Science and Technology of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, and Adjunct Professor at the Yeager Center of Electrochemical Science of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He received the Olin-Palladium Award of the Electrochemical Society and the Herzberg Memorial Prize of the National Research Council of Canada. He published two graduate level textbooks in Physical and Interfacial Electrochemistry and has been teaching these subjects for the past 40 years, and published some 180 papers and book chapters and five patents.
