About Mitutoyo 500-784CAL SuperCaliper Absolute Digital

The calibrated Mitutoyo 500-784CAL SuperCaliper solar digital caliper is for measuring inside/outside diameters, depth, and step of items in harsh workshop conditions. This caliper has a measurement range of 0 to 6" (0 to 150mm), resolution of 0.0005" (0.01mm), and an accuracy of + or - 0.001". The LCD screen displays in inches and metric units. This unit has a solar-powered cell that can be used continuously at 60 lux and when charged can be used for an hour in environments of 50 lux. This gauge is Ingress Protection certified IP67 for protection against coolant, water, dust, and oil. Mitutoyo calibrated tools include a Certificate of Calibration that provides evidence that the tool has been calibrated and is within allowable error specifications. Mitutoyo calibrated tools are certified by Mitutoyo's American Association for Laboratory Accreditation-accredited calibration laboratory (A2LA Certificate #750-01) to the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 International Standard for testing and calibration laboratories. This caliper has an Absolute electromagnetic induction-type linear encoder for accurate measurements and no origin set is needed. It has stainless steel jaws for durability. It uses components that do not contain harmful substances and is compatible with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directives. Functions offered by this caliper include origin set and counting value composition errors. This unit comes with a solar cell and a fitted, plastic case. A pair of jaws attached to a long beam with a marked scale is used to take inside, outside, and step measurements. An additional depth probe slides along the beam to take depth measurements. One jaw is fixed to the end of the scale, while the other jaw slides along it with gearless precision to take measurements. The reading is electronically generated and displayed on a digital, high-resolution screen as a single value. Digital calipers can take differential measurements, which are used to determine the difference in measurements between two objects, by zeroing the display at any point along the scale. Some digital calipers can switch between standard and metric units, and some can output readings to a computer or printer for recording measurements. Compared to dial calipers, digital calipers provide measurements that are faster, easier, and more error-free, but they are more fragile mechanically and electronically, and do not resist coolant well. Vernier calipers are more durable than digital calipers because they do not have internal moving parts, but they can be more difficult to read. Digital calipers are commonly used in fields such as metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, carpentry, and medicine.
