Coconut carbon pre-filter neutralizes household odors from cooking, cleaning, smoking and pets. Also captures larger particles before reaching HEPA filter, extending life of the HEPA filter. True HEPA filter removes up to 99. 97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0. 3 microns including smoke, dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, mold spores and dust mite debris. Recommended to replace HEPA filter every 6 months and pre-filter every 3 months for maximum efficiency, or more often depending on air quality and environmental factors. Package contains (1) replacement HEPA filter and (2) replacement pre-filters.
