The measurement Range in forehead and ear mode: 89.6°F-109.2°F (32°C-42.9°C). 'LO' means the temperture is lower than 89.6°F(32°C), not low battery. No measure room/air thermometer in forehead/ear mode. Ear: 1.Take off the probe cover, fit the probe snuggly into the ear canal. 2.Press and release the Measure button in 1 second 3.After the beep is heard, you can now read the value. Forehead: 1.Press the Measure button to power on. 2.Position the thermometer probe at the middle of the forehead, keep in contact, press and hold the Measure button, slide to the temple 3.Release the button after the beep is heard, you can now read the value. When you take the ear tempurature you must reading after the beep is heard. When you take the ear tempurature you must release the botton after the beep is heard. If you make the temperature leaving the part you want to test before your heard, it maybe shows the tempurature of air. So it will show 'lo'. Hope this can help you.
