Whether it's for indoor or outdoor living spaces, utilizing stainless steel cable as the infill for your railing system will add modern beauty to your home with minimal view obstruction. Imagine sitting with your friends watching the kids play without view blocking balusters. You'll both enjoy the clean crisp lines of your new Cable Railing. Cable Railing - a Contemporary Look. AGS Exterior Cable Fitting allows through-hole installation of cables while providing tension on the cable. They can be combined with several other AGS non-tensioning fittings to efficiently complete a DIY cable railing installation. These fittings are made of Marine Grade A316 Stainless Steel and provide superior corrosion resistance. The A316 fitting is recommended for installations near more corrosive environments such as near salt water. This kit includes 2 each: Exterior Cable Fittings, 1/4"-20 Jam Nuts and 1/4"-20 Acorn Nuts. Exterior Cable Fittings are mounted to wood, composite or metal via a through-hole and tensioned via the included jam and acorn nuts. The Exterior Cable Fitting is crimped to the cable. When installed on wood or composite posts AGS recommends using a Flat Bearing Washer (B00LZZC7AA). AGS recommends a maximum of 3" spacing for cable runs. For 36" high railing that typically works out to 11 cable runs, for 42" high railing that is typically 13 cable runs. Check with your local building codes. Exterior Cable Fittings DO provide tension on the cable. AGS recommends using AGS "bypass" type Cable Cutters (B00LZZCDJK, B00LZZCC1O) and AGS Cable Crimpers (B00LZZBACG, B00LZZCC1O) for best result.
