ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE 1/15/19 By My Silence the CD by SONiA disappear fear new recordings- 5 songs written by SONiA, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Hatikvah, 2 Hebrew Folk songs, one song in Kurdish and the ever requested By My Silence written by Ellen Bukstel and Nick Annis. CD includes full song lyrics in English, Kurdish and Hebrew. Folk songs with a modern organic arrangement and lush harmonies. A little Dylanish, 50s rock, Kurdish & Israeli roll and add up to world beats with lyrics in classic disappear fear style. This album came about after SONiA was delayed by Nazi Rallies in Eastern Europe while touring. Her experience touring and expanding- all around and especially in GERMANY has been overwhelmingly positive and she feels we cannot let scapegoat idiocrasy destroy freedom and progress. With the rise of anti-Semitism,Oligarchy, homophobia, refugee-phobia and more Fears that are contrived to divide all people, it seems urgent to sing about these issues in an new/old way. We finished the final touches laying out the album on Friday October 26th and on Saturday October 27th when I turned back on my TV after Shabbat I saw the horror that had unfolded that morning in Pittsburgh. It is our deepest believe that music can help us find away to come together again.
