About the Author Ruth Peltason is an editor, author, and lecturer. She runs Bespoke Books, an editorial studio specializing in books on the cultural arts. She is the author of David Webb: The Quintessential American Jeweler and Living Jewels: Masterpieces from Nature; and a book on jewelry and modernism. As editor, her books include Design Research: The Store that Brought Modern Living to American Homes, and Creative Time: The Book, 33 Years of Public Art in New York City. Ms. Peltason has lectured on jewelry at museums such as LACMA and Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and for Christie's and Sotheby's. She was previously Senior Editor, Director of Design & Style Books at Abrams. She lives in New York City. Grace Ong Yan is an architectural historian and architect who is currently teaching at IE University in Segovia, Spain, and at Moore College of Art & Design, Philadelphia. Previously, Dr. Ong Yan taught at Parsons School of Design, SUNY Buffalo, and Yale University, among others. She has practiced architecture in the offices of Renzo Piano and I.M. Pei, and is the author of a forthcoming book on corporate modernism and branding. Dr. Ong Yan received her Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania, and her M.Arch. at Yale University. She and her family live in Philadelphia.
