Anthony Stowe (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is a corrupt, heroin-addicted narcotics cop who is hated and despised by everyone. After a shooting in which he is nearly killed, he slips into a coma. Months later he recovers and gets a second chance to correct his past mistakes: personally, he tries to become a good husband again, and professionally, he tries to stop his ex-partner Gabriel Callaghan (Stephen Rea), who wants to become the new leader of the local mafia.
