There are many Baptists that are ignorant why they are Baptists. On one hand, one group of Baptists do maintain that they did originate in the Reformation Period. The members of this group do take pride and strongly advocate that the Baptists are Protestants. They trace their origin to the leaders of the Reformation Period – Martin Luther and John Calvin. On the other hand, some Baptists argue that the Baptist Church was originated during the time of Christ and the Apostles. The proponents of this group do contend that the Church that Jesus built was never any other church but the Baptist Church. This group of Baptists strongly holds to the their Baptist succession teaching. And yet, still others do rationalize, it does not matter whether or not the Baptists did originate in the Reformation Period or at the time of Christ or the Apostles. What is important is, one should be a Christian regardless of his denominational affiliation. They continued to assert, it does not matter to God whether or not one is a Baptist, Protestant, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopalian, Anglican, Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Scientology, Hindu, Buddhist, or whichever religion or sect he belongs.This book attempts to resolve these issues mentioned above with the main purpose of teaching or educating every Baptist born-again believer through the truthful history of the Baptists. It is hoped that by teaching the Baptists the genuine and true history of the Baptists that their faith in Christ will be steadfast and strong and their knowledge of the doctrine about the church that Jesus founded will be further strengthened and deepened.
