About Field Guide To Birds Of UC Santa Cruz
Field Guide to Birds of UC Santa Cruz features full color photographs of 94 species, complete with anecdotes, interesting life history notes, and specific locations on the UCSC campus where each bird might be found. The guide also includes bird ID tips, a map to campus birding hotspots, tips on recording and reporting your observations, and a resource list for those interested in learning more. Benny Jacobs-Schwartz is a field biologist and avid outdoorsman. He graduated from UCSC with a B.A. in Environmental Studies in 2013, but wanted to use selections from his photo collection to create a resource for the UCSC community. By giving back, Benny has created a field guide that shares his passion for birds and hopefully will ignite in others their own lasting joy in the great outdoors.
