Descriptions Murukku is a delicious, crispy Indian snack. This snack originated in Tamil Nadu, and its name is derived from the word "Tamil: முறுக்கு" in Tamil, referring to its shape. Murukku is popular across India and in other countries (Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia) where Tamil diasporas exist. Murukku is usually made from rice flour and urad dal flour. It is sometimes called "chakli"; chakli is a similar dish, usually made from other ingredients such as Bengal gram (chickpea) flour. In 1975, Tian Chang started production of "MURUKU IKAN" and has been the most popular snack of all ages ever since. This small package snack made from small packages of flour and fish is definitely addictive.
