About Ethicon SXPP1B410 Stratafix Spiral PDS Plus

STRATAFIX Spiral PDS Plus Device is indicated for general soft tissue approximation where use of an absorbable suture is appropriate. In vivo studies of STRATAFIX Spiral PDS Plus Device demonstrate that for sizes 3-0 and larger, approximately 80% of its original strength remains after two weeks and four weeks of implantation. At six weeks post implantation, approximately 40% to 70% of its original strength is retained. For size 4-0, approximately 67% of its original strength remains after two weeks, and 50% at four weeks of implantation. At six weeks post implantation, approximately 37% of its original strength is retained. STRATAFIX Spiral Devices provide smooth tissue passage and a secure hold that helps control tension and achieve excellent tissue approximation. Additionally, STRATAFIX Spiral PDS Plus Device has been shown in vitro to inhibit bacterial colonization of the suture for 7 days or more, addressing a known risk factor for surgical site infection.
