About Spears 466E Series PVC Clamp-On Saddle With EPDM

This Spears schedule 40 PVC clamp-on saddle has a socket outlet for connecting to male pipes or fittings, and is suitable for adding a 90-degree branch to a pipe. The saddle is made of white PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for chemical and corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than metal. It has an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seal for resistance to oil, water, and some solvents, and is compatible with all types of pipe with an Iron Pipe Size (IPS) outside diameter (OD). The saddle has a maximum pressure rating of 235 pounds per square inch (psi) at up to 4" IPS, 200 psi at 6" IPS, and 150 psi at 8 to 12" IPS. It comes with zinc-plated steel hardware for secure mounting to a pipe. This PVC clamp-on saddle is suitable for adding a 90-degree branch to pipes for cold-water pressure distribution systems including irrigation, pool and spa, potable water, and chilled water applications. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness). Spears Manufacturing produces thermoplastic fittings and valves for fluid, drain, waste, and vent systems. The company, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Sylmar, CA, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
