About #10-24 Expansion Screw Anchor, Machine Screw

The diameter of the anchor is #10. The length of the anchor is 5/8" Each anchor must be set in the concrete with a specific setting tool. The anchor is set using the #10 setting tool, which is included in the box. The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 5/8". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 5/8" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete. The depth of the hole that is required for the anchor should be a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete. This will allow space for dust created during the installation process to fall, which will prevent the anchor from bottoming out in the hole before full penetration into the concrete. The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The #10 diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 7/16". Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 3-3/4" from each other when measured center to center. It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 1-7/8" from an unsupported edge of the concrete. Installing a #10 - 24 Machine Screw Anchor Drill a 3/8" hole into the concrete using a carbide-tipped bit that meets ANSI Standards B212.15. The depth of the hole can be deeper or equal to the minimum embedment depth of 5/8" which is equal to the length of the anchor . Clean the hole with a wire brush, vacuum, compressed air, or a blow-out bulb. Insert the anchor into the hole with the threaded cone end first. Take the correct #10 - 24 Machine Screw Anchor setting tool and insert the smaller diameter end into the open end of the #10 - 24 Machine Screw Anchor. Strike the end of the setting tool with a hammer until the anchor is fully set. The #10 - 24 Machine Screw Anchor is now set. A #10 diameter bolt can be inserted into the #10 - 24 Machine Screw Anchor with a maximum torque of 20 in. lbs.
