Turn your display and Windows 10 PC into a versatile capture tool. The display-mounted, down-facing camera quickly digitizes 3D objects and textures, 2D documents, and the live desktop view.
Integrated 3D SLAM Fusion scanning technology constructs the digital 3D model in real time. Simply rotate a scannable object in your hands under the camera (see image gallery for characteristics of scannable objects).
Generate compatible 3D data with texture map synthesis for PBR rendering using integrated Allegorithmic Substance B2M functionality. PBR rendering software is not included, sold separately.
Enrich remote collaboration sessions with visual communication: Share and zoom in on high-resolution captures or a live view of objects, sketches, and documents for presentation.
Access HP WorkTools: Applications that enhance Windows workflows, including Capture WorkTool for 2D, Camera 3D WorkTool for 3D, and the Stage WorkTool visual clipboard. Internet access required for download and updates.
Document scans you can use in your everyday apps: Scan, crop, and straighten your documents and export as searchable Adobe PDFs.
Compatibility: Most current HP Z and EliteDisplay series monitors and Windows 10 PCs. Select flat- or moderately curved-back monitors.
Display is not included. Minimum PC requirements: Windows 10 64-bit Fall Creators Update (Version 1709), Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3-1200 v3/6th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 (or equivalent) Processor, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 2 GB Disk Space, NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 760/NVIDIA(R) Quadro(R) M620 (or equivalent), Full HD Monitor (1920 x 1080), 1 x USB 3.0 Type-A port & 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A port (or 1 x USB 3.0 Type-C port for included adapter), internet connection.
Fast forward to digital realism with the HP Z 3D Camera. Turn your display[1] and Windows 10 PC into a versatile capture tool, with 3D object and 2D document capture, as well as live view and video capture capabilities. For 3D scanning, SLAM Fusion technology creates a 3D digital model in only a few steps. Hold and rotate a scannable object under the camera, as the Camera 3D software tracks and builds a base 3D model in real-time. Base model geometry can be further enhanced or refined in digital sculpting applications, such as Zbrush[2]. A 14.6 MP camera captures high res images of an object’s color texture, that are mapped to the geometry to create realistic texture. The Camera 3D software synthesizes PBR maps with every scan — diffuse color, normal, roughness, and metalness maps. These can be edited in texturing tools, such as Substance Painter[2], to add realism to the scanned object. There are many objects that do scan well, but not all objects are 3D scannable with SLAM Fusion scanning technology. The included ‘What makes a good scannable?’ chart illustrates characteristics that make an object more compatible with SLAM Fusion scanning. For example, objects like a piece of driftwood or an athletic shoe scan well (rigid, asymmetrical, enough volume, with highly varied color detail), whereas objects like a narrow twig or small toy car do not scan well (not enough volume, with potentially moving parts, thin edges, and/or transparent/shiny/dark surfaces). Minimum configuration of Windows 10 64-bit Fall Creators Update (Version 1709), Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3-1200 v3/6th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 (or equivalent) Processor, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 2 GB Disk Space, NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 760/NVIDIA(R) Quadro(R) M620 (or equivalent) 2GB VRAM, Full HD Monitor (1920 x 1080), 1 x USB 3.0 Type-A port & 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A port (or 1 x USB 3.0 Type-C port for included adapter), internet connection.
