From the Author I started writing "Into the Garden" more than fifteen years ago when I first heard God speaking to me while gardening in my east Texas home.My marriage was falling apart and I needed answers. I prayed continuously for months asking God for peace in my life. I believed in the vows I had taken but was suffering from emotional pain. It seemed as if I had fallen into the same dysfunctional patterns I experienced in my childhood. For me, nature and gardening provided me the calm I needed and I felt closest to God in this environment. As I wrestled with God over my plight, I told Him I needed answers and they would have to be clear and direct. What followed in the days and months to come was miraculous. God started speaking to me in profound, simple, and direct ways. He sent a black angel to save me, provided clear answers to my questions and dispatched cardinals who followed me everywhere for months! I began writing down all I had experienced in my garden journal, and shared these writings with a christian women's group I attended every week. They encouraged me to keep writing so I did. I eventually sent an article into the Esprit, an Episcopalpublication from the Diocese of Dallas and they published my first article. After my divorce, I shelved the garden journal until I received the message to "Finish the Book" I don't know why God chose me to experience these things, I am somewhat shy and felt people would think I'm nuts if I told these stories. (Okay maybe I am nuts!) Seriously though, I am a practical, no-nonsense sort of woman who doesn't exactly believe in fairy tales. But the truth is, God has changed my life!
