About Epic Militaria No. 15 Acme Metropolitan Infantry

These charming pieces of equipment, are all dated and you can choose from 1916, 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1944. They are fantastic replicas of the original Trench whistle, issued to Infantry Officers and NCOs during WW1 and WW2. They are made in the UK by J. Hudson & Co, the same company that made the original whistles for the war, and the replicas are made in the same factory using some of the original tools and dies! The whistles were originally used to sound the Over The Top command, sending troops out of the relative safety of their trenches to attack the enemy. These nickel-plated Metropolitan whistles are stamped with the manufacturer's name and address, the title of the whistle (The Metropolitan), date-stamp, and with crows-feet (or Broad Arrow). There is a ring at the end of each whistle to loop a cord through or attach to a jacket. The whistles measure 8cm long, and come with a certificate of authenticity, and are packaged in a stapled cardboard box. Features: - Made by J.
